Symptoms Associated with Menopause |
|||||
|
The symptoms
that are experienced during menopause will vary. You may experience symptoms
that are quite different than those experienced by your neighbor, friend or
even your mother or sister. Here is a list of some of the symptoms of
estrogen deficiency, progesterone deficiency and testosterone deficiency as
well as the symptoms of androgen excess. (Androgens are hormones we used to
think of as "male" hormones, such as testosterone. We now know that
both genders have all hormones, only in different levels.) |

What this
means to You |
|||||
|
The various
symptoms associated with estradiol, progesterone or testosterone deficiency
and the symptoms associated with androgen excess have been merged into the
Menopause Type® Questionnaire. The information is then used to
determine your menopause type® based on symptoms. |
|||||
|
However, it
is very important that you realize that most of these symptoms may also be
symptoms of other hormonal imbalances, including adrenal or thyroid hormones.
In addition, your symptoms may also be symptoms of nutritional deficiencies,
or lifestyle choices such as inadequate rest or exercise. |
|||||
|
The other
causes of your symptoms will be discussed in this module. By seeing that
there are many causes of your symptoms, you can understand why there are so many
therapeutic choices available to you. You can also understand why your
healthcare professional may choose to start you on nutraceuticals
after studying the results from your Menopause Type®
Questionnaire. |

|
What's
Next? |
|||||
|
We will now
take a closer look at the Menopause Type® Questionnaire and learn
how this tool can be used to understand your unique symptom picture and how
this will affect the therapies you choose. |
