Wellness Reports that are provided through YourMenopauseType.com are
more than lab tests.
Every Wellness Report utilizes mathematical algorithms to collectively interpret data from a number
of sources. These reports are valuable tools for serving the unique needs of each woman. More than a lab test, The Wellness Kits are each a “Wellness Program in a Box”,
providing a highly personalized report of each woman’s unique menopause
status. |

Physician Grade Wellness Screens |
Specialized Integrated Questionnaires |
|
|
|
|
These
are lab tests
that provide significant
objective information about the specific area being evaluated. The tests
are designed to provide the most accurate and relevant information required
for proper assessment. An example is the Menopause Type® Wellness
Screen (saliva test), which measures three different hormones three times each, for a total of nine tests., recognizing
that single saliva samples do not provide accurate representation of woman’s
hormone function. |
Each lab test is
accompanied by a specialized
questionnaire specific to that test. Depending upon the Wellness
Assessment, the questionnaire may gather information about Signs &
Symptoms, Family History, Lifestyle
History, Current Lifestyle Choices, Health &
Wellness History, Feelings, Emotions and Moods. Medication, Supplement & other Substances
may be evaluated as part of the wellness assessment. Anthropometric (body measurements) data
is a valuable component of many reports. |

Additional
Features: |
|
|
||
|
Quartile Analysis – A quartile is 1/4th of the reference
range. Where the levels within the range is critical for proper interpretation.
Levels 20% into
reference range are different than levels 80% into reference range.
Quartile analysis provides more precise interpretation than the tradition
“low-normal-high” interpretation. (See pages 49-50) |
Ratio Analysis – Hormones always act in relationship to other hormones. This
interrelationship is revealed in the Menopause Types® Report. In
addition, P:E (progesterone to estradiol), D:C (DHEA
to cortisol) and other ratios may be part of a Wellness Report. Ratio analysis of anthropometric data, such as BMI & WHR are
presented as appropriate. |
|
||
|
Fluctuation Index™ – When indicated, the degree of hormone fluctuation can
provide important information. Circadian
Analysis (24 hour rhythm analysis) is also used when appropriate. |
Medication &
Supplement Review – As
indicated, the ability of medications to adversely affect lab test outcomes,
or the quality of life or the risk of disease is included in the Wellness
Report. |

|
The
Wellness Report |
||||
|
The
Wellness Report
is the result of merging
lab test information and specialized questionnaires and other data
into a single, clearly
understandable, personalized report discussing the level of wellness
with interpretations on risk of disease and quality of life. The report
includes choices that should be considered to improve quality of life and
decrease risk of disease. |

More About Wellness Reports: |
|
|
||
|
Wellness Reports are designed from models developed by Joseph J. Collins, N.D. an
experienced educator and pioneer in the development of advanced diagnostic and
therapeutic protocols widely used by a number of diagnostic laboratories and
nutritional companies. By integrating
both traditional and complementary medical models into diagnostic and
therapeutic protocol design, Dr. Collins has emerged as the worlds’
first “Integrative
Medical Protocolist”. |

|
While the questionnaires for each Wellness Assessment from
YourMenopauseType.com are unique, and each focus on different
information, three important questions are always answered: |
|
|
||
|
1. What do the lab numbers really show – for
this person? 2. What influences how the test is interpreted
– for this person? 3. What
choices do I make based on ALL information – for this person? |

Advances in Testing Made by Dr. Collins: * In the early 1990s, all saliva
hormone tests for women measured only estradiol and progesterone, and
included a bone health marker. Dr.
Joseph J. Collins was the first to direct a laboratory to include testosterone
as a routine part of menopause testing.
Testosterone was also added to the Female Hormone Assessment, which measured
the monthly cycle of menstruating women. Within two months, every other
saliva laboratory followed his examples. To this day, testosterone testing is
part of all menopause salivary tests. * In the early 1990s Dr. Collins
discovered the 12 Menopause Types®. * In the mid 1990s, all saliva labs
discussed “estrogen dominance” but did not have a clear scientific way of
determining if a woman was “estrogens dominant”. Dr. Collins developed and
introduced the P:E ratio (progesterone to estradiol
ratio), which again was adopted by every other saliva laboratory. * Early 2000. After continued
research his findings, including proper saliva testing, were published in What’s
Your Menopause Type? (2000, Prima). They were republished in paperback
format as Discover Your Menopause Type (2002, Random House). The
requirement of multiple samples testing for clinical accuracy is recorded in
his books. Three samples are collected on three consecutive mornings. * 2004, YourMenopauseType.com uses
research of Dr. Collins to report the “Fluctuation Index” in the Menopause
Type® Report. |
