Astragalus (Astragalus membranaceus)( Huang chi)

Astragalus may help control excessive sweating while promoting urination, helping decrease fluid retention. It is most popular for its immune-stimulating properties, and is especially suited for any woman who has a fatigue disorder that has developed after a virus or other infection. Astragalus also has shown to have supportive effects to the cardiovascular system and the liver. May be used by women of any Menopause Type® who wish to increase the health of their immune system. Estradiol seems to be responsible for the enhanced immune response in females, a benefit that appears to diminish in aging, as estrogen levels drop in some women. For that reason, this herb may be most beneficial for women with Menopause Types® that have low estrogen.

Menopause Types® that may benefit significantly by using this herb include Menopause Types® 4, 5, 6, 10, 11 & 12.
