Dr. Joseph Collins

Dr. Joseph J. Collins is an internationally recognized leader in the field of Functional Endocrinology. He is an experienced medical educator and presents many lectures to physicians, pharmacists, Nurse Practitioners, and other healthcare professionals on diagnostic and therapeutic applications within the integrated, functional medicine model.

The discoveries and teaching of Dr. Collins assist patients in restoring their optimal function by focusing on the unique needs of each patient. With attention to highly individualized care, his professional education program, the Management of Menopause Type® Program, healthcare professionals learn the use of natural & integrative therapies that are as distinctive as each patient. His customized therapies include a focus on Functional Medicine as a primary approach to menopause, andropause, adrenal fatigue, thyroid dysfunction, insulin resistance, and fatigue disorders.

 

Functional Medicine is a scientific approach to healthcare that evaluates and remedies the fundamental causes of an individual's illness through uniquely personalized diagnostics and therapeutics, with a focus on restoring health and improving function of that individual.

Dr. Collins continues to serve as a clinical and diagnostic consultant to healthcare professionals throughout the world. He is recognized as a leader in the development of advanced diagnostic and therapeutic protocols. He also serves as a clinical consultant to the diagnostic laboratory, nutraceutical, and pharmacy industries.

Dr. Collins’ work was first published as What's Your Menopause Type? (Prima, 2000), the first book for women to distinguish the many facets of menopause, and present the tools to identify their unique menopause type®.

His published work was re-released in 2002 by Random House as Discover Your Menopause Type.

Dr. Collins has also authored many educational articles and presentations on achieving balanced hormonal health, diagnostic medicine, natural pharmacy, and nutritional/herbal therapies. He has established widely used diagnostic, interpretive and therapeutic protocols based on functional medicine tests, including salivary hormones, serum hormones, urinary hormones, food and chemical sensitivities, osteoporosis risk assessment and cardiovascular risk assessment.

Dr. Joseph Collins is licensed by the State of Washington as a primary healthcare Naturopathic Physician. He is a graduate of National College of Naturopathic Medicine, Portland Oregon. He is married to Ann Collins, the cofounder and CEO of YourMenopauseType.com, and is a resident of Georgia.
